Together We Raised $34,000 to Feed 340 Families

Thank you! We surpassed our goal. Together we raised over $34,000 to feed 340 families!

We came together as a global community, took on this challenge and surpassed our goal. Thanks to our restaurants, home chefs, generous donors and a deep and broad community who joined hands to make this a reality. We are forever grateful

As we celebrate Rosh Hashanah, we think of our community in Israel who is able to join us in celebrating the new year.

Shana tovah u’metukah to all who celebrate.

While the 18-Day Challenge has completed, you can still contribute by clicking here.

In this challenging time of Covid 19, we are grateful to you for ensuring that everyone in our Jaffa community in Israel is taken care of. We hope that you will consider a generous response to this special request, as we head into the High Holy Days.

The Canadian Friends of the Jaffa Institute’s food box distribution program ensures that any family, senior or Holocaust survivor who needs food receives it. We are experiencing an increasing number of requests for food security. Many Israelis have been without work during the Covid pandemic. In addition, the elderly in our community are more isolated than ever.

How Can You Participate?

Consider a Donation
A gift of $100.00 or more today will help to ensure that those in need receive nutritious food for Rosh Hashanah. We in Canada are committed to upholding our promise to provide 180 food packages to our community in need, for a total of $18,000.00.  Our goal is to deliver the food parcels before the sun sets on September 18th.

Spread the Word
Because food is such an important part of how we come together as a community, we will be sharing wonderful Israeli recipes throughout the 18 days of this giving challenge. Please help us to spread the word by sharing our recipes with friends and family. Each week we will post a new recipe in our newsletter, here on our website and on our Instagram page.

Thank you for helping us provide a semblance of stability in the lives of our community members through this food campaign. Please join us in making this New Year a happy holiday for those who have so little.

Wishing you and your family a sweet and safe New Year,

With deep gratitude,
Pam Albert
National Executive Director
